13B turbo rotary, rear wheel drive......... But would rather have a 20B Triple Rotor with a single T4 turbo..... if I could get it to fit.

400HP would be sufficient.




OR perhaps I could use a Mazda 323 gearbox and an adapter plate to get a 13B in East/west configuration, with a T3 turbo on it..... to get about 200 to 250HP....... then have one setup between the front wheels, and one setup between the rear wheels... for a minimum 400 combined horsepwer AND 4 wheel traction.

Jai I can't say where I get my cranks from but needless to say I have no problem sourcing them at a very very good price.

out of curiosity only at this stage what price can you supply a 1275 sth african crank for. i'm just thinking for future reference should mine ever need a transplant.

Mate I've heard of blokes selling them for $400 or even up to $800 phuc that I get them for a price that is cheaper that you'd pay for a ordinary large journal crank at a swap meet.

I had a Smart ForTwo for 2 weeks a couple of weeks ago when I had my wisdom teeth out (could not get my bike helmet on)

Hmmm...698cc 3cyl turbo producing a pathetic 60kw. You have to flog the living crap outta it to get it to go anywhere and even then. the redline is a mere 6,500rpm. 1st burnout are impossible, although with some effort, you can get it to drift in 2nd.

The shift pattern is back to front. Up to go up and down to go down. Should be the other way around to work with the physics of acceleration.

4L/100km??? Maybe if you were on the highway at a constant speed with a tail wind, but around town it is nowhere near that. More like 6-7L/100km. No better than the 1.6L Pulsar I had a couple of years ago.

In reality, the Smart cars a are totally overated and TOTALLY overpriced.

That being said, IMHO, they are the ultimate car (after the mini) for inner city living and peak hour traffic. Oh...and the heated seats rock on cold mornings! If they had a $12K price point, they would sell heaps of them.

Oh, and I would say a Morris 1100S 1415 stroker with one of the new turbos Nissan has developed. They are electric motor assisted, so they are always spooled. Instant power like an SC without the increased fuel consumption from stolen power.

Seriously though, my cousin is a 747 pilot for Qantas and is based in Sydney, but is in Brisbane for about 1 weekend out of every 6. So he has the Smart car up here which he leaves at his parents place. No need for a full sized car for that amount of usage.

With the amount of money you spend on the smart car with not much petrol you could spend less money with a charade 1 litre and pay more for the petrol and stil win.

tk no such thing as an unlimited supply. they only made so many 1098's in south africa and the way pople have been shipping them out of the country by the crate laod at 15-20 a time its gotto run out soon.
I have sold about 15 of them in 4 years so im not the one selling that many but i do know of a few people who a selling tea chests of them, one form jo burg and one form durban area i just wanted to know who it was that was shipping so many of them. If you were bringin them in individaully then they weigh in at 11.5kgs and cost R340 to post. i sell them for about 150 quid incl crack tested/ nose/threads postage etc etc and std/std journals. but they are getting harder to find.
would like to know incase i want to buy anymore.


steveandsash by the way the crank should be no different to the local cranks other than the 12G1683 casting which has a different hardening finish from memory.
all the others are 12G1505 casting.

Looks like big bore NA is the winner overall. Seriously in a FF mini it's quite hard to beat the A series unless you are going to spend big $$$$$. 120 flywheel horses is scary fast without needing to get much more than that
