What is the effect on the camshaft? Does it get it's slathering of oil from the windage thrown up from the gears?

It seems simple to cut out and simple to fit however.

Mick I would have thought that the cam gets it oil from the feed to the cam bearings as well as from the lifters when oil travels down from the rockers?

There is a heap of oil flung from the conrods + crank webs, that's the primary source of cam lobe lube. Most lifters sold these days have no oil hole in them.

well if you're not having pushrods you wont need cam lobe lube.

I have had success with the fortech one. Fits well, they make for central pickup and have had one save my gear set when a Carrillo bolt failed.
A bit like the radar detector in The Castle.... "just paid for itself".
