I'm all for injection but nothing beats that 'soul' and 'charm' you get from noise of gurgling weber.

I'm not too convinced on the drivability either - i've never had a problem driving a weber in traffic, sure you can't apply wide open throttle but all the injection setup is doing it taking away the 'driving' part and turning you into a pedal masher and it's doing all the work for you during the parts when you can't apply full throttle.

What traffic is there in brisbane anyway?

If i were to spend money on injection it would be with a crossflow head.

I bought mine more so for my scharged set up but i will soon find out how it is N/A

a webber sounds cool, but im all about modern technology.

my mate in uk owns this kit 1380, 286 cams & reckons it shits all over the webber in every aspect that was on there previously.

he does some track days with it & even drives it in traffic in london *only summer* and said it is amazing.

apart from the made webber sound. :)

here is having a go

Beanie, What are you using as an ECU to run the injection? And what are you doing for spark?

How much HP do these throttle bodies really give on a siamese port head?
Is anybody racing successfully anywhere with 5 port heads and injection?

I don't think anyone is really racing with them as production classes are the popular ones and prohibit it. But all the drag and rally cross minis do quite well and project sixty four is running injection.

There are plenty around including manifold/airfilter for around that price. The Manifold/Air Filter I would purchase would not warrant firewall modifications.

Also, the S/C kit is a complete kit, no dicky around having to source and other components.

Sean, yeah I had figured in a like for like comparison the tuning cost of either would be equal (but of course with the injection you can retain each tune).

JC

There are complete Mega squirt kits available too but it sounds like you have already made up your mind.

And if you can get a Webber for that price it will no doubt be second hand and would require more than just a gasket kit.

Good point on the fuel system mods don't forget linkages and an assortment of jets etc for the Webber. There's probably plenty of other hidden costs.

im using a HAltech F9 at the moment its fuel only so ignition is controlled by the standard electrinic dizzy ..

now looking to upgrade to a later E6X so i can have spark too

i have played a little with 5 port injection and one common theme is that the A series motor doesnt like too finer fuel droplets ..

my first injestion setup
ran S4 RX7 injectors which are like a big hose ..

This was it running my first set up

not tuned first time running 1293 huge head and a kent 296 cam

i am now using ecotec V6 injectors in the Jenvey

injection is in NO WAY easier than a weber .. but it is rewarding and worth the challange

awww little bubby 660cc S4 injectors... my last rotor ran 2 of them and 2 12A injectors for up top (880ccc's)

just love the consistency with injection, but it's usually the tiny little flaws that you notice consistently.. once it's tuned to perfection, it just works. brilliant. but sorting those little bugs can be a long process.

No minds made up.... Can you point me towards the mega squirt kit?

Ive got my eye on a complete throttle body set up off a bike. Just need to determine how to to run it and wha the ecu needs as a signal to tell the injectors to fire.
