Going rate at Pick 'n Payless was $40, with the coil and wires too.
But there were none there the other day when I trawled thru it.

$75 will do.
Make sure it's off an N12, and has 2 screws holding the cap. The clip on ones were NOT electronic..
Get the coil too, as said, it's 1.5 ohm which suits the dizzy.

But, the dizzy body is the same size and length as A series. Fits right in there, once you change the dog and get the clamp fork to fit.

Is that right, Kev? My modded Pulsar dizzy shaft looked a good 20mm longer than my 45D Lucas A+ shaft. I was thinking I was also going to have to put a bush (spacer) on there once I get an A+ dog-gear.

(I blindly followed the instructions for the mod, never looking at my Moke's dizzy. Go to do the changeover, and low and behold, it's an A+ (12H engine no.) block. Oh well, the old man's roundnose van (12Y engine no.) scored itself a Pulsar dizzy. Luckily, the Pick-a-Part on the Hume Highway has a number of D4R85's for $32 a pop.)

I took mine out of the 1098 A series, where it's been for 6 months.. bushed the 3/16" shaft hole to take the A+ dog, put the dog on filed the body to fit the clamp, as said above, and fitted it in the motor.
Been running around for a week or so now. No problem.
The end of the Pulsar shaft is the same diameter as the A+ where it goes into the A+ driveshaft- I didn't have to change length at all. 8)
Only hiccup was getting the O-ring into the hole in the block, it's a pretty neat fit and there's no chamfer in the block. A smear of grease did it.

<edited> syntax.

Sounds even easier than the A-series mod. I'll have to pick myself up an A+ drive-dog. Cheers.

Um.. these ARE an electronic dizzy that's why we use 'em!
Where else can you get one that fits an A series or A+, compatible advance curve, complete with coil etc, for $40...
BTW it'll fire plugs at .035-.040" gap, no worries!

Kevin,

finally got back to the List and am catching up on a few things.
Noticed your distrib mod. What about the old A block? The Nissan distrib fit, or alternative?

thanks,

Yes it does fit. This one was previously in Barney's 1098 motor.
Need to drill the shaft smaller to suit the A+ pin, or bush the shaft back as I had to, if it's been in an A series.
Only other mod is 5 mins with a square file to remove the 3 little fins on the outside of the casting, then the A+ clamp will fit like stock.

Do a search in this Mods forum, there's a complete `how to' thread.
If I find it I'll put the link here.

<edit> here it is- http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic ... lsar+dizzy

easy mod- if it takes you more than 20 mins to mod & fit, read the instructions again!

This mod is easy for an A-series, but is soooo easy on an A+. Thanks all... one of the cheapest, easiest and most worthwhile mods you can do.

Revvy Moke = :D

This mod has a 68Delux Seal Of Approval on it  I can vouch for it, it's awesome. Makes starting the car so much easier too!

I can't see too many Lucus Electronic dissies being sold in the near future that's for sure
