Chris that is a no re 10 thou cam bearings - I can only get them for small bore, don't know about 1275. Better find another cam and keep that one in your door bin to leave 248* indentations on peoples sculls

And to hijack the thread (you watch it I have a 260* cam here so no funny business!), has any one heard of small bore blocks coming standard with sleeves? Mine has them, I'm guessing they have been put in at a later date but I thought I'd check. The problem is, when I blew the hole in the cylinder head it also damaged the block - and the sleeves have seperated the tiniest amount from the block itself. Which is bad.

Anto.

small bore -.010" cam bearings DO fit a 1275. Been there, done that. On my boss's 1100S block.
Rear bush is shorter on small bore, but is the same length as the rear 1275 cam journal is. All cams are the same length, BTW...

Not unusual Anto....great way of reclaiming a block that has been overbored and worn out.

Now to hijack Chris thread...whats happening at Murrumbateman :!: Have you managed to get the car back home :?: Has Wayne rang about the 1100 engine possibilities :?: What :?: What are u up to :?:

A lot of motors (particularly 1275s) were sleeved at the factory due to casting or porosity problems. Faulty ones were put aside and then a bunch done as a production run.

It just seems strange to me to sleeve a small bore block instead of just grabbing another one from the back shed. I guess small bore blocks were valued way back when :) So possibly my block could have been crap at the factory, or has been bored out countless times afterwards.

Mick, cost of trailoring the car back from Murrumbateman and borrowing of trailor on Sunday was 1x case of VB  So I have got it home, will be talking to Wayne this weekend. I'm not without transport though, the bike is registered and I'm riding that, and if my parents buy a new car on the weekend I get the 121 til the Mini is fixed. You can see the pleasure written across my face with that thought can't you.....
