i think what happend was that it ran off the water pump, but it kept eating its bearings out and became a pain in the arse,so it went off the ballancer with a air con pully to reverse the drive...not sure as i only heard about this from his bro on sunday, the man himself was at the workshop pissing about with his new rover...
i can find out more for you?

i heard that 1380's arent real great (unless ofset bored) for super and turbo charged engines as the bores can warp slightly with the amount f force put into the chmbers....

true? :?:

from what iv been told, the 1380's bore walls flex around under forced induction,so a 1293 or 1310 is your best bet.
boss has a turbo 1440 or something crazy like that,he dont expect it to last very long,
People goto 1380 for more NA power, bigger motor, more fuel/air,big bang,...you go small big strong motor, strap turbo on,and it will force more fuel and air into a smaller motor and get you a eaven bigger bang=more power :D

yeah certainly understand that theory... Higher reving engines also work better with turbos as it keeps em on boost longer.....

i went and saw the guys at midel a couple f hours ago... really nice guys in person.
He wants $250 to convert the HIF44 I have or roughly $500 for a brand new turbo carb... I think I will go for the converson as its cheaper...
progress towards the setup... I got my BOV yesterday and have the fuel pump on order. Blue Holley and comes with regulator...

Question to anyone in the know, will i need a raising pressure regulator for the turbo install???

its still a SU,so i would say no,coz to much pressure in a SU will push the needel up and flood the carbie,S's need a healty flow, but that at high pressure, ill say that a holly blue and regulator sound be just fine :D

Clubman, Yep, i use the Holley Blue (Noisy Ferking thing.....)
I also use the standard Holley Regulator, BUT I've modified the hell out of it to make it rising rate.....

Sealed the top section (devcon and a couple of "O" Rings..) drilled and tapped the side and fitted an air barb fitting.... ("O" ring there as well ....)

Works pretty good......
Drop me an email if you want some pics....

J

noisy aye?> even on the move you notice it....?

noise from my car isnt a problem, its not a daily driver and its driven because I like the lack of refinement (though some cooling for me would be nice especially in this weather) :!:

How much boost you running?
