looks sweet mate , can u please post some pics of how u finished off the ends of the dash ? also how did u do the steering column setup? is it mini column wsith starlet stalks or all starlet?

On the ends i couldnt really do much, i just made some bits up out of mdf and covered it in the same meterial as the doors. Its pretty dodgy but its ok.

column is still mini with starlet stalk grafted on.

brad, how do you find the 'new' stalk in the mini? I dislike mine as its really stiff and i find them pretty easy to break....

was it hard to graft it on?

What kind of dash is suitable to put into a mini?
I know it's a really broad question
Sadly, I don't have a mini yet (I'm researching everything as throroughly as I can).
And because I want to put a CD player in the car and would prefer aircon, and I don't want to cut an original dash, I'm leaning more towards a dash conversion.
Any suggestions? Suggestions for websites relating to minis would be nice too.
Thankyou :D

well many dashes will fit, its all a matter of how much work you want to do the concersion im doing at the monent is basically a wiring harness and dash transplant , (= big headache) i am also using the daihatsu gauges, heater and all demister ducting, (making even more work) but the end result will be well worth it . the dash im using is from a 1992 daihatsu mira and it is the correct width for the mini, but there will still have to be a lot of fibreglassing and welding before it all fits perfectly. i have also seen honda civic dashes fitted, a toyota starlet dash, and an early suzuki swift gauge housing modofied and fitted ino a mini, later swift gauge pannels have also been modded and fitted into timber dashes in minis .

dash is partially in , with some brackets made, welding will be finished this weekend (hopefully) and fibreglassing will start.

fibreglassing has commensed, i have made up both end caps and have glassed over other holes and imperfections in the dash. soon i will have to move the steering column exit hole(after i get the moke box) to meet up with the minis setup. should be fun :D
