HAHA the plot thickens. turns out my mates dad works with a uni that engineers and builds race cars and the next couple of months the workshop is free  might have an engineering department to help me if not i still have free use of a dyno if all goes to plan. quick question how does a dyno help u craft a need and time? as in which readouts help with changing these?

Just had a scary thought. with my new set up will my 1 1/2 inch maniflow exhaust and extractors be too small? what would i lose in power compared to a bigger set up?

I wouldn't have thought your maniflow exhaust would be 1 1/2" more like 1 3/4" which will be OK for a standard SC setup.

ok small update finished uni classes today thought id get straight to work on the mini

pulled everything off the 1100 waiting for a chance to go grab the engine crane its ready to come off in the process discovered the reason for no compression.

discovered a few problems with the new engine. the spindle for the distributor wont go in its too big ????? im hoping there is more then one size. and my dip stick doesnt fit so im going to have to make one and tread the hole if it doesnt fit aswell.

pictures of the progress after one day of work

gaaa!!!!

FOR F*CKS SAKE GET THOSE BRICKS OUT FROM UNDER THAT CAR!!!!!

go to supercrap and for $20 you can have a proper set of stands

bricks crack, shatter, slip, fall and will kill you

and I hope you've got a set of disks to replace those drums with...

i do have a set of disks planned to replace those drums.

ive had bad experiences with cheap stands collapsing or tilting, i have the drive up ramps (which have been modified to be stronger with extra metal to reinforce them) under the car aswell as the bricks there is no way the car can fall more then 100mm if it did and i was under there i would still have alot of clearance even with my head pointing directly up.

it is set up in a way which will not allow it to fall to the ground even in the case that the car was hit from the side im aware that only bricks are dangerous.

altho i did just look at that photo and i dont think the stand is under there in that

Just got the car back and im wrapped seriously wrapped, the power and torque is amazing im running in the engine fairly hard (not stupidly) need to get my speedo recalibrated its out about 6 miles so obviously different diff. also need shockers and/or competition bump stops because she rocks like a boat at the moment which does make me smile alot but in traffic i make passengers sea sick. sooooooo much fun too drive thinking about doing a run at calder when they re open friday night drags and might get some incar videos up if i get time before uni
