mine hinges forward and u can slide it to the side to totally remove it.
for maintence its 218973987321 times better than a normal roundy.
but for just checking the oil and stuff, it sucks undoing pins just to be under the bonnet for 30 seconds.

as sc850 said. make it legal.

....UNLESS of course you need to do it when you're at the servo.... unclip the whole front end and pull it off PROUDLY 8)

Or how about 4 GAS struts that lift the bonnet straight up at each corner when you pop the bonnet??? Not just for show.........but it would work best for a clubman bonnet, although I imagine if you used unequal length struts (front to back) on a round-nose mini, you could still make it work.
