do you think the hesitation is from a weak mixture, so the larger pump and idle jets and smaller choke , will help richen the idle mixture up, to help stop the hesitation

Ahh I finally solved the flatspot probelm on the weber and it only cost $5, i was missing a little pressure valve in the float bowl at the bottom, its a little brass screw with a ball bearing in it, with out this the pump jets dont work properly, although they still do squirt fuel, just much weaker.

So now all i can say is the weber is 10 times better than the su, Works a treat all through the rev range. If anyone gets the chance for a weber or simillar carb get it.

Hi,
Just put my 998 +100 back into my van. I figure that makes it a 1078. feel free to correct me on that. I am about to recieve a 40mm dcoe with a longman manifold (not sure what length-ebay purchase). The carb is jetted for a 1098. my engine has a cooper 998 cam and a 12g295 head. pistons are flat tops.

Any advice on whether or not the carb is likely to need new jets/air correctors.

Thanks
Mike
