Also, with the money you're going to save from not buying a CAI, you can now afford to buy a set of neons instead. :D

David Vizard and K&N came up with a kit which consisted of a long intake tube from a K&N pod filter just behind the grille to a plenium box on top of the carby. (See Tuning BL's A Series Engine). It was claimed to improve torque, but it didn't sell well and was withdrawn.

With the current ricer craze for pod filters, if it was available now it would probably sell.

I don't see why replicating what Vizard did (we're not worthy!) would not work. :?

Hey everyone, i have a pod filter just behind the grill on my 1098 clubby and it works a treat, and it looks quiet good, im am fussy when it comes to clean and tidy if it not right ill do it again till it right... ill take some pics and put them on....
for the whole set up it cost me $24 for the high flow filter and i had some piping laying around in the shed which i used, all up it took about 1hr to get it all good..

Replicating yes, with 100's of hours of flow bech testing and professional development time.....

Hmm, should be fine if I whip it up out of an old bit of poly pipe and a shoebox! Specially if i put a cool sticker on it!

You get my meaning?

They are in Hornsby, NSW.
Many bike shops and 4WD shops are Unifilter dealers too.

The pod filter is only ilegal if it is not covered, i have mine in a custom air box which makes it legal, iv'e already been pulled over and they said it is fine in the box as long as it is not in the open...
ill try and get some pics as soon as posible

Pod filters are only illegal on a pollution equipped car (post 76) if it interferes with the pollution gear or if the noise exceeds the local laws limit. 96db from memory for pre 83 model, 86db from then.

Cheers,
