does anyone know the timing/lift etc... figures for this re13 cam that everyone keeps talking about?

I got cam lift .290" at lobes,
Duration is around 274*.
Hard to compare with other cams of similar duration, the lobe shape is assymetrical.
They work. 8)

Doc, are you saying the RE13 lobes are assemetrical?

The RE 13 is NOT a scatter pattern cam, by assymetrical I mean when viewed end on, the rise and fall flanks of the lobe are different contour.

Anyone know the 2 dimentional area of the combustion chamber at the face of the head? (approximate) or roughly how much to take off per cc reduction?

Doc, I know what you meant and that's my concern! What method do you use to time it then? The conventional "measure lift before and after TDC to find centre" won't work on an assemetrical profile (well it might, but that would be luck).

It IS symmetrical at the top so just time it normally, I use 0.005" from full lift points.

must be arround 18 - 19 cm2 but im not sure, measure the depth of a stock head and go from there i guess, id do so if i had a head at my flat :D

OK, but any idea how far off full lift it differs? ( I assume because of where he was going with this cam it's fast opening but a slower close) Just wondering because I think I used 5thou but it could have been slightly more. Rather than fildding the dial gauge face and screwing up the alignment of it I tend to just measure from the nearest 'big' mark on the dial so in theory could be closer to 10thou (I have no idea if that makes sense.....)

No one is going to answer my question so I will answer it myself. I did a "rub" of the combustion chambers of the 295 and the 202, transfered to graph paper and counted the squares.

202 = 26.25 cm2 and 295 = 27.50 cm2 The Vizard addition takes the 295 to 27.73 cm2 but only need the section near the plug as it already fitted the rest.

end of todays useless information
