buy an mg metro turbo engine, not quite as nice as an NA engine but if your only interested in beating a bini in the 0-100 sprint go for a turbo
get the turbo worked etc etc should go alright.
cost alot of money though. you should be able to out corner the new mini's, and thats where the fun is for me.

When I was at wakefield a guy with a new Bini came up and asked what boost I was running, when I told him (11psi) he was shocked as he'd changed the pulley on his for more but still I was passing him.

I don't think the turbo would be necessary, just a good 1300+cc N/A with weber zoorst etc. I built a 1445 (74mm bore with stroker crank) and it used to beat V8's Maloo utes and the like no probs!

It's not HP alone, put the car on a diet like take the spare tyre out and see how much quicker it is, the Bini weighs a heap more already.

you could really screw with your parents heads by taking the stock clubbie 1100 and putting a supercharger on it ($800 kit + blower ~$300) and beating them with that - might not last long, but it'd beat them - then build a tough 1275 set up especially for the blower and you'll eat the bini for breakfast

to make a really quick motor - you've gotta start with the right base - a well built and lightened 1275 taken out to 1360 or 1380 (but don't do forced induction with that capacity) with an RE13 cam, then you can add a ported and flowed head, high lift rockers, carbs etc. as your budget allows

Whats even better is when you pull up next to a WRX and blow them away, then they abuse you at the next lights cause they are trying to sell their car   (true story)

Any mini that has more than 100hp is a quick mini. The only thing holding you back will be you (literally) I mean weight wise, the less weight the faster you will take off.

As said earlier in this thread, you can make a seriously quick mini that will blow most modern cars away (cept maybe the seriously quick ones) if you have enough money to throw at one, but that's not why you buy a mini right?? you buy one for the corners 8)

The good old loser fly-by... you have to put with them all the time when riding a motorbike and sticking to the speed limit.

binis arent very advanced, they have a boat anchor of a motor, and thats what saves us, all you gotta do is get some boost on your 1.3 to compete with the boost on the 1.6 and its bye bye baby.

go for a 3.76 diff for acceleration, that helps immensely 8)

I've been told they're rather quick. But Ireckon a mini without an interior, lightened to buggary with a good 100hp boosted or not at the wheels it would beat it. BUt 100hp ain't easy but lightening is, so start lightening!

A BINI Cooper S is good for mid-high 15s for the 1/4 mile...
You better have a GOOD Mini to beat it
