I'm only 6' but I did some seat mods to make a little room as well so I don't have to duck down to see a traffic light or stick my head out the window. I used the seats out of a 1988 Suzuki Forsa Turbo, which have some nice little side bolsters for support and a head rest that is actually at head height unlike Mini seats. Plus they are a little smaller than seats out of something like a Honda Civic so the fit in the Mini nicely. I also replaced the beam on the floor with a lower one so that I could drop the seats down and it gives me better visibility, lower centre of gravity and it's easier to get in and out. However people laugh when I get out because they expect me to be much shorter by the way I look when I'm in the car.

Just welded a couple of lugs to the front of the mazda rails
to pick up the bolt holes on the standard mini seat brackets:

No extra holes in the mini required :)
