Extending the front, no idea how they do it. But the new metal in at the A pillar seems, som about 3" or something is added after the sill at the start of the guard, bonnet would be similar I assume.

It'll probably cost you more to extend a rover front than to make a flipfront :? Just stick with your clubby front end if you're doing a 4EFTE conversion, besides we all know clubbies look tuffer 8)

in regards to minimans question, today i was stripping a flip fronted car for a customer as there was no way that it would be given a roadworthy as the structural integrity of the vehicle was damaged, if there is nothing connecting the front of the subframe to the main body the car will be deemed illegal, if however you put large bracing bars on the side that go to the front it will be passed given an engineers cetificate, can i ask what the point would be on a mk1 mini to have a flip front with the inner guard still in place? the whole idea of the flip front is to gain access to areas that were previously difficult to access, if you leave the inner guards and have a flip front the only part of the car you are taking away to make life easier is the bonnet rest at the front. i learnt all this from a place that performs roadworthies on minis all the time, so nothing is wrong.
