Hi Guys,
I need to get a VIC RWC on a Mini. Can someone please recommend someone in inner West of Melbourne. The car currently has NSW rego but in order to transfer it to VIC I need to get a RWC.

I am likely to need at least:

new windscreen
fix oil leak
at least 1 new CV
fix wipers (appears to be mechanical not electrical)

and this is without being checked out! Please no flaming unless you want ot PM me.

I just basically want to get my car registered in VIC with a minimum of fuss before I do any mods, i.e. disc brakes, adjustable arms.....

Thanks.

I just had mine Roadworthied in Hoppers Crossing 3 weeks ago, to change from S.A. rego over to Vic Rego. Mechanic was thorough but I had to show them where everything was as they have limited knowledge of Minis, this can be helpful. If you want the address, P/M me and I will return it :? to you. They are in Old Geelong Road, Hoppers Crossing.

C'mon Dave, you done your RWC yet? I need to get mine now, maybe we can get two for the price of one?

Anyone got any other suggestions for a Mini-friendly RWC'er in inner Melbourne?

When I finally get the right boss for my steering wheel I would be interested to see if we get a 2 for 1 deal. Somehow I think mine might be a bit more $ than yours to roadworthy though.

But I'm ready. :P So lets do it.

I'll probably use Davo111's guy in Hoppers, hopefully next week some time. Gotta get the hydro pumped up a bit first so they can get it on the hoist (nothing to do with the height being 'illegal', nooooo)

How's that suit? I'm sure they'd be happy to do two Mini's at the same time ;)

Deal. I'll try and sort out steering wheel on the weekend. You don't have a spare boss do you? I ended up buying the wrong one, so need to organise a differnet one to fit steering wheel.

What a mistake that was.

I just got back, and I'm still angry.

They tried picking things which were obviously fine (e.g. lights not working.. I call bullshit and show them). Brake lights don't work? Here, see this? Try doing it with the ignition on.

They tried telling me there are spacers on the front which must be removed.. they're DRIVE FLANGES, you morons. Remove those 4 screws and the discs fall off.

They complained the reversing lights didn't work. Uhh, guys, reversing lights came into the ADRs in '72, this is a '70..

$88 down the drain.

They did pick some stupid small fiddly stuff like missing grommets, no hose clamp on the fuel filter input, etc.. which I'll fix, and after I 'set them straight' they've told me that they'll write the cert when I do the stupid stuff.

Not happy, Jan
