I have two intakes available for HIF44 to fuel the 1293 build - one is the standard alloy Metro intake the other is a Titan Motorsport alloy intake.

Should any preference be given to one versus the other??

Metro one has a good reputation for flow, even stock.
Why not get both flow tested at a head mod shop? To be sure, to be sure..... :)

Knowing how cold it gets over there, I'm guessing a water heated manifold would almost be a necessity!
Not sure if the Titan Motorsport one is water heated but the std Metro one would be. If the Titan manifold is longer than the Metro one you might have to check for clearance of the HIF44 to the bulkhead too!
You could always tickle the inside of the Metro one with a die grinder as most std manifolds often require.

Cheers Shane

I use Mg metro intake in my 1293.For some reason it pulls better than minisport alloy intake which has slightly bigger ports.I removed sharp edges before location rings .Water heating is not connected, never had any kind of issues.

After a close look, I've opted for the Metro...very good match with the manifold gasket & ports. Carb mounting flange is also aligned to tilt the HIF forward likely to improve bulkhead clearance issues.

Both manifolds are heated and it will be connected to cooling system (for warming in the interest of economy)...not looking for raw power.

Will post photos when the builds (engine & tranny) are completed and the power unit is installed in the Mini.
