mmmm i like that. i get the idea now though. can u get these big port gaskets from most mini suppliers

Only worth using the big port gasket if the head is ported big and needs them. :shock:
Yes most Mini places have them, mine came from Karcraft.

i have mate that used to work at sam's performance and is very handdy with a die grinder and he said he would match port it for me for nothin. but that means i have to take the head off. it's only been on there for 5000 miles do u think i will need to get it flattend to put it back on. is there anyway of porting with the head still on or is it not worth the risk. what is the price of gettin the head flatten

No you won't need to surface grind the Mini head if you take it off. It's not a bloody Holden grey motor.. :lol:

Sheesh Doc....I valve bounced one of those all over Sydney for a long time...a robust unit if ever I saw one....although they go very very quiet when the fibre timing gear strips :oops: :(

i got the large port gasket (4.95) from minispares at padstow) so i have a fair bit of work to do on the die grinder. i will put some pics up of a before and after when i'm finished.
