Guys

ages ago on the other web forum someone posted a link to a web page that had a collection of templates for dash face plates anyone heard or know of it?

I'm wanting to make a face plate that runs from far left of dash to meet left hand side of three clock console. Two way to to it. 1) buts up agains three clock console. 2) Other ideas is to cut part of lastic clock cver away on left hand side so face plate slides in behind.

Can anyone help with a diagram, measurements or plans?

Start with these if you want.

yeah but nah......im more specifically looking at templates for the surrounding binnacle, or if someone can tell me how they joinded their cluster to the plate, cause i know without the binnacle around the cluster, they still protrude out thus not letting the dash face fit in nicely, like i see heaps of people making a seperate section of the cluster, does anyone have templates like those?

I tell ya what dude....I am cutting my dash out of carbon fibre this weekend. It's what you have described (2 pieces, meeting the edges of the standard 3 clock binnacle).

I will take measurements and post it on my site.

I am using an old one made by someone else as a tracing template.

If you want a full dash fascia, the 3 clock binnacle screws to the rear of the ply. It's very easy, when you look at the binnacle you see exactly where the screws go through.

DON'T USE MDF....APPARENTLY IT GIVES OFF A TOXIC CHEMICAL AS IT AGES

When I did the dash in my clubbie many moons ago I used 1 flat plank all the way across. I was using a GT 3 binnacle cluster, the back section (that holds the guages) was bolted to the timber of the dash. I cut the sides of the black plastic surround so that it sat flush on the timber. You can leave the top & bottom, it was only the sides that I trimmed.

Sorry mate, I don't have any pics of the setup. That car is long gone too so I couldn't take any pics either.

This is great......I have to make a dash for Sherman, my daughters' Mini. These links and pics I've gathered over the past few weeks gives me loads of ideas. The pics that I've got are in my photobucket - have a look
