Hi All,

Just to introduce myself:
I'm from San Jose, California (near San Francisco). I have a Riley Elf (Mk2) that I am currently building up. It's my first car restoration.....

I know this stuff has been asked before, but I couldn't find specifics...

I'm going to build 2 engines for this car:
1. 998cc as a practice motor (my first! Plus I already have one).
I'm thinking GR .100 pistons, 295 head (I have), and a RE83 or RE13 camshaft. I think this is a good combo for lower end torque, at least that's what I've read on this board...

My question is:
How do I get my hands on the RE83 or 13 cam? I looked up Russel Engineering, but his "contact" webpage is broken. Does someone have Graham's number I can call, or email?

2. 1293 or 1330cc Twin Cam (BMW head)
This is going to be my dream motor. I'm looking for decent low-end torque, so think 8Valve? or 16Valve? I'm hoping for smooth, fuel injected power delivery (i.e. flattish torque curve).

My questions are:
-Which head is best for my goals?
-How do I go about getting a build guide or build kit? Is it "theMiniMan" who is doing these? I don't want to randomly PM someone....:)

Apologies for the ramblings of a newbie.... and thanks!

Cheers,
Daniel

You will find GR (Graham Russell) is a member here and you could PM him and your right, it the MiniMan otherwise known as Matt Read that does the twin cams.
This thread is a guy doing the twin cam conversion.
