how much do Minispares pay you for the advertising???

jokes..

if the carb does end up being more long-term, you could put a temperature sensor in an appropriate place on or in that pipe, and an electric valve to turn the water on and off to regulate the temperature

Figures on graph are HP at wheels, and A/F ratio.
No torque figures given here in shootout mode.

3rd gear? what revs? (or what's your diff ratio & gearset and I'll work it out myself)

I'm a bit surprised, mine made 90 (on a dyno dynamics so should be similar)... that was at only 5700rpm where the injectors were at 100% and it was going lean. I really should dig up some different injectors and try to sort out the rest of my little issues

Looks like your dyno operator was looking at your AFR too ... looks like peak torque might have been at 90kph there, headed to a nice 11.5:1 and then started running out of fuel. If that stayed at 11.5-12:1, the peak HP there would've been a good bit higher

Hi Simon,
Different dyno, different day you will get different results.
When it was tuned on a different dyno it was running out of fuel at high RPM and the needle was changed to as thin as possible. 84HP on that day with 13x7 wheels
Gearbox is standard 1275 Clubman with 3.1:1 diff ratio and 1:1 drop gears. and I fitted 13x6 wheels with A539 tyres.

Hey Michael

When you came down to sort out mixture & the pinging problems i think you'll find the final figure you got will be different by 5% due to the MRC dyno being run in "shoot out" mode.
This slightly inflated figure is the norm aimed at giving a more even across the board readout when competitions are run from early morning (cooler) to mid day (warmer).

Andrew.

finally got around to looking at what revs it would have been doing - assuming a 1275LS gearbox is the same as a UK mini of the same era (MKIII/IV Mini & Metro (pre A+ <'84) with a 1.43 3rd gear), it would only be doing 5250rpm in 3rd gear at 112kph.

88hp down there is great - my 90 was at 5700

fiddling with some numbers gives you some figures, probably completely bogus, but still...

88hp at 5250 rpm is actually 88lb/ft torque, 88lb/ft at 6000 rpm is 100hp. I don't doubt that it pulls easily past 6000rpm. You said on page 7 that peak torque was at 4500rpm, so maybe it wouldn't get to the 100 at 6000, but maybe at 6500?

So I wonder why the dyno operator pulled the pin at such low revs - it should have kept pulling
