Just picked up a set of fog lamps and l am undecided what to do with them.
l have 2 options.
1. As l have 2 sets of driving lamps on the mini at present l can replace 1 set with the
fog lamps.
2 Keep the mini as is and put the fog lamps on the wifes car.

What do you think?

It's your choice, depends on if you need them of not on the mini?..If not, whack them on the wifes car ;)

Does it get foggy enough to use fog lights? Or are you just going to carry them around?

That would be my question also morris - you really need to answer the question "Do I need fog lights?"

If yes put them on

If no then I would think you were better off with a set of driving lights and a set of spot lights. AND if you are going this route & there is no need for fogs, why put them on the wfie's car?

I used to live in one of the worst places for fog and I would only have needed fog lights twice.
You only need fog lights when your headlights dazzle you. That is what fog lights are for.
You drive in fog crawling along at 15 kph because you can hardly see the bullbar in front of you and your headlights are reflecting back off the fog blinding you. You can't see the white lines on the side of the road. You are getting that dazzled by your own headlights that you try driving with them turned off!!!! This is when you need foglights.
If you can see the car in front of you, you do not need fog lights.
If you can see where the road is going, you don't need fog lights.

I live in Helensburgh and during the summer the fog gets real thick. I haven't seen a fog light yet that was worth putting on a car. Strangely you do get used to driving in fog.
