However what I'm looking at doing next is using an RC servo to control the vane position, the servo will be controlled by my megasquirt, and will have the benift of being able to open the vanes at cruise.
You can get a bosch solenoid/electronic valve that sends a signal to the MJ - was going to do that to my setup before EFI... based on certain things you set it (RPM etc) and it should do what you want.
