Mike cheers regarding the Heat shrink...this is mainly to the amount of repairs I have had to do to Morris

I must admit I use fluxs with the solder but also heat the wire up prior for a nice coating. I make sure the Heat srink is well away as it will pre-engage shrinkage (I'm waiting for the comment here..Please don't bother)
When its a terminal I try and get it over the terminal and use the Wifes Hair dryer..You should see here face when she see's in the Garage

That is correct.... high powered globes may be bright.... but there is a law that says "for every good thing, there is a bad thing".

In this case, a superbright globe puts out more light - more light is created from a hotter source. The heat from that source will usually be greater than the surrounding parts can cope with.

If the plug doesnt melt first, the wires will.

You dont need anthing greater than 90 watts on your high beam.... and nothing over 70 on your low beam. When the filament is brighter (aka: hotter), it is weaker.... and will therefore break or "blow" from the smallest bump. Thats why cheaper low powered globes last longer.
