that big bolt isn't meant to be there - looks like it's been put in to clear a fat spare wheel, my blue cooper's brackets had been remade in gal to clear the spare contessa... my gold Cooper has the correct little rubber thingy - the center one has a rubber similar to the one for the bonnet prop, it's to grip a U shaped bar screwed to the boot board, to hold it down - mine is missing the bar

Are those brackets supposed to be pop rivetted, like in pic? I thought they were spot welded.. :? (it's been 20 years since I owned an S though!)

meant to be rivetted doc - something of an afterthought I reckon ;)

it's a bit funny that the extra tank base and the tabs for the tank breather are spotted but the brackets aren't....

Here are some pictures of the boot board and brackets.

Here is the boot board.

This is the bracket under it to clip it into place.

and again.

This is the bracket and rubber that the board clips into.

Image

There are two of these brackets for the rear of the board to sit on, they are supposed to have a rubber on top.

Dani I could kiss you, but you're too far away, too young and your dad would probably belt me, oh, and my wife would belt me too - but the sentiment is there, now, where in Australia can I order one?
