Throw me your address (via PM), I happen to have a half dozen or more left over from a recent pair of hub rebuilds.
Hope they can help.

cheers

Mick

NEVER throw old shims away. The new BJ kits don't have enough in them now to fit to a new swivel hub, never mind an old worn one... :x

Well I'm keeping them then.....!

Just kidding...

When I buy a new one, I add whatever remains of the old ball joint's shims. I never really bother to adjust them down to no shims if I have a few dollars about.

I assume by now we all agree that they dont send enough shims in the replacement ball joint package, but how many extra shims should you have to use to pack up the new ones. the gap between the hub and the retainer nut seems large when you screw it down and it starts to bind. i'm talking maybe 1/8" maybe more. any comments guys?

1/8"...
That seems way too much- are you sure the centre button is not in upside down...??
Also when doing the lower ones you should remove the spring behind the button, shim it up so it's just movable by hand at 72lb/ft torque on the nut, then undo, refit spring and reassemble.
Always use NEW lockwashers- if the balljoint nuts come loose/off at speed it's scary time for you, and maybe me too.

Dont worry guys it ain't going on the road till it's right. The centre buttons are in the right way with the ball sitting in the cup.
