sounds great!, i heard the 2 core was better so i'd get that one anyway.
13 row oil cooler should be fine.
i don't find my car leaks any coolant without the expansion tank, but if space permits i will fit it.

what kind of clutch will you run?

4 cores good if you have the room I was told the 2 cores are more efficient, but the 4 core has more capacity, if that makes any sense. Either way I have a roundnose and 4 core wouldn't fit without cutting some stuff.

13 row oil cooler, as said above should be quite fine.

Your motor, especially gearbox sounds impressive, should get the power to the ground very well!

For clutch I'd recommend Cooper S clutch but there are better.

Cam belt drive sounds great, expensive though! Should be able to get really precise cam timing. So probably motor to be setup on an engine dyno (not rolling road) would be a good idea so it cam be adjusted for max power? Talk to Graham Russel, I'd say.

Good luck, should all go well!

yeh i should be getting some good power.. and to try get it to the ground i have a new set of yokohama ao48r semi race tyres..

my cam doesnt have adjustable gears because its a slightly older one but better quality with the full alloy cover instead of plastic like i have seen in the mini mags as of late.. but still should be alot better than the timing chain :D

clutch im not sure yet.. i have a lightened flywheel and a uprated and lightened pressure plate but not a clutch plate itself but i am looking to find a good kit as i dont really like the sound of a lightened pressure plate haha

yeh it will be a while before it is started as i am going to try find a re-13t cam and alot of other parts i need for the build aswell as full respray and also full retrim etc etc etc

I have Dunlop Formula R's on 10x6 wheels. They stick awesomely.

Let the clutch out wit decent revs, then plant it, on skinny tyres, pre-supercharged my car would spin the wheels crazily. But with Dunlops, and supercharger it sticks, and first is a real short gear! Without wheels spin 6000rpm comes up really quickly! Geez it's fun, won't be as fast as your Commi was, but will feel fast! And, still, it will be pretty quick. 8)

I have the same belt drive setup as you.
You can get offset cam keys from MiniSpares from 1-9° in 1° steps, to set the timing spot on.
Once set, you don't need adjustment anyway- the belts don't stretch.
Note the belt needs periodic replacement. Mini Mania recommends at 20,000 miles for the standard belt, or 50,000 miles for their Kevlar belt which I'm running now.

yeh i know it wont be as fast as my commie but will be so much more fun to drive.. the commie was just impracticle especially for the fuel it used!!! not to mention the tyres with the 9" locker setup

I brought 2 in so I have a spare, with US postage it worked out to A$75 each.
Makes sure they POST it, if sent UPS etc will be dearer.

Note the original Italian Pirelli/Dayco belts for this are now NLA, the standard belts come in from China now... and they are a looser fit- just what you want, NOT.
