hey everyone im running my clubman 1098 engine which has 1.75'' exhaust system HS4 carb and high flow air filter in custom air box.... im running it on 91 octane fule which it seem to go quiet good, i just want to no if it will go any better with 95 octane.??

91 is way too low, Minis were made for Super fuel (was 96-97 octane).
I'd run 98, or 95 if can't get. :lol:

oh bugger so in other words it will make a difference with the 98 octane. it should bump the power up shouldn't it and give better throttle response

Unless the ignition timing is retarded lots now, I'm surprised it's not `pinging' (fuel pre-igniting due to low octane) on 91.
Put a tank of 98 in, if it's no better, go get it tuned. 8)

no i doesn't ping under heavy load, ill advance the timing and run 98 octane in it, ill keep advancing it lil by little untill it pings then ill just back it off.... ill see how it goes.... wat will happen if i advanced it to much. i no that the engine will run hotter, wat are the dangers

Too much advance it will run rough, can burn pistons even.
You need to get a strobe timing light, to see what it's set at.
Even a cheapie will do. :wink:

yer i have a timing light that i use, but i just wanted to no the affects if i advanced to much
