Is it worth it buy a sump guard for normal everyday driving. my deluxe is a roundy with standard wet suspension. the car has just been rebuilt so i don't want to smash the sump open by a mean gutter.

And is it worth it to fit a quickshift to a standard remote 3 syncro gearbox. Im just wondering as if i order a new sump guard from minisport in adelaide. it would definitely be a proper KAD one.

Thanx for ur help.

I'd say you don't really need a sump guard for everyday driving... But everynight driving is a different story, if you've still got the old lucas head lights that barely light up anything, watch where you're driving at night.. There was a huge pot hole on the side of the road where I was parking.. I couldn't see it at all, it caused a nice scraping on the sump. No damage, just scraped a few fins.
If I bought one of those minisport sump guards, they look too good and cost too much that I'd be scared of scraping it, let alone the actual sump.

Far out - if I have to make another trip to the Central Coast I may as well post myself to the RAAF base there - would save on petrol!!!

Just jokes...Sump guard would be good - I kinda clobbered a bit of carrion on the way back from picking up the subframe from Raymond Terrace(thankfully it was in the Fairmont - not much damage...)but if I was in the mini like I should have been - well I may not have been here right now - think it was a wombat...

Hmmmm - decisions...BTW sorry to see the black bullet go on - is there anything else in the pipeline?

Good stuff - family is a full on passtime - besides I am looking at downsizing the mini stuff and looking at more "us" time.

I can drive the pacific highway with my eyes closed at the moment...know every nook and cranny...
