I read in another post that it is possible to for a sigma bosch alternator to be fitted. Is this correct and if so what modifications (if any) need to be made?

Cheers, Nunny

Hmmm I thought there was a thread in how-to forum to do the Bosch alternator fitup, but there isn't..:(
There is a thread here somewhere, do a search...

Many here have done it with a Bosch off a Pulsar (very similar)- it's mainly a case of mounting it so the pulley lines up, and lengthening the adjuster so it reaches the lug bolt on the alt.
If you use 2x Mini ones bolted together to reach, weld the 2 together after you are happy with it, or they will MOVE...

With the Pulsar Bosch alternator, the spacer washer behind the drive pulley is removed to move pulley in closer.

Then the brown wires from solenoid are attached to the `+' or `BAT' stud, and the yellow/brown IND wire goes onto the appropriate pin of the control wire socket.
The other control wire is run from 12V+ on the lower fuse (switched with ignition)
That's it!

I thought it was on here too. It is definately on Anton's Justanothermini site.
Haven't done it myself yet though.

I've done the Sigma conversion on my Minor. They are a standard Bosch Internal regulator Alt (common in Falcons, Lasers, Commodores etc etc) but they have twin adjuster bolt mounting points, which allow them to be "mounted upside down - pivot topside" on an A-Series. It required a thin washer to bring the pulleys level.

I hunted around a wrecking yard 'til I found an adjuster bar to suit - I think mines a 6 cyl Falcon item.

I still neet to find a single bolt to replace the pair on the pivot side.

Large connected (red) wire runs to the solenoid, small connected wire(yellow) to warning light, large unconnected spade terminal (messy red tape) was used on a previously installed Lucas unit.
