nothing wrong with your going straight to the place down the road either  cut out the middle man

just don't ask for exactly their product name - specify the performance you want and the rest of the engine specs and see what they come up with, then shop around.

After modifying the head on my 1293 turbo back in 98, I found a small porous leak after about 18 months of 11psi use. I took it to the local head shop who said it was RS.

I then took it to GR who told me is was repairable and proceded to weld up said matchhead size hole after I had heated it up for about 2hrs with a flame. After cooling the head wasn't even warped and I fitted it back on the car using the same head gasket (GrpA turbo).

Long story short, the head is still in the car and has regularly seen 240deg f at wakefield and oran park without the repair even complaining. I have only changed the head gasket once and this was due to a bent exhaust valve in 04.

I Highly Recommend GR for any type of head work.

Cheers

Daniel

uuhm.

I'm on the other side of the globe so no GR for me

My latest rethink of the ports look quite a bit like GR's I must be doing something good 8)

lovely work there... Vizard might suggest you lessen the knife edge between those valves, as you'll get an odd deflection as the mixture passes over it - of course, I may be speaking out of my arse because I've never actually done it!

practical experience wins over theoretical (mis)understanding...

Hi, thanx :)

maybe you can edit the pics out in the quote ? it takes up so much space

Well these are the exhaust ports, not the inlets. What Viz does not tell you is that it is rather hard to work on the intakes knife edge as you cannot really get at it well.

This is a new form (for me at least) the idea being to get a measure of choking a bit down in the port to aid extraction.
(jury is still out on that one, I e-mailed with Guy Croft ( does a lot of twin cam fiat and lancia work. he sees very little in the choke concept)

Furthermore the bit behind the guide would not flow much so i let it be.Keeps the guide cooler as well. Both Swiftune and KC leave a bit of a wedge standing..

the flow in the end exhaust ports is still very much down up and across but it takes less hacking. The center exhaust does a kind of "crossfire" . I widened the port a bit up top to get a bit straighter shot.

rest of the ports are kept a small as possible

i hope it works as well (or better 8) ) than the heads i have done so far wich have been straight Vizard copies..that gets old after a few heads.
