you don't need to pay a fortune for a decent gun especially for home use, you should be able to get one for between $110-200, theywon't last as long as the full pro one but will outlast any home use

i wouldnt spray 2pac at home, not without a sealed booth and a proper air line to breath with..
its extremely toxic, and you could become seriously ill or worse if you breath it in.

i think its illegal too.

Its illegal to spray a car at home full stop if the truth be known, acrylic is still toxic and the same precautions should be used no matter what paint type you choose

Next time you go to a car show ask around and you will be amazed at how many cars are painted in acrylic.

Thats true but how many SHOW cars are painted in acrylic. We all go to car shows and ask ourselves the question why do the owners enter their cars when they arent exactly a very high standard.

before everyone shoots me down i know theyre proud of what they've acheived and so they should, it doesnt make them top notch.

Go a two pack finish, there isnt too many painters or even "gifted amateurs" willing to put the effort into a show quality acrylic finish. You shouldn't be dissappointed in a quality 2K finish.

pffffftttt..... like I said in this post previously.......I was at a show recently and there was a Chev Impala parked next to me. EVERYONE was raving about the paint....AND IT WAS ACRYLIC! :P The owner said LOTS OF COATS to give it good depth.

I agree, nothing wrong with acrylic most do 2 pack because they are not prepared to do the work for a great paint job, with patience and effort I still like a really good acrylic job over 2 pak, 2 pak just looks good staight off the gun, that doesnt make it better as a matter of fact it can be harder to live with, just tyr and do some chip touch ups, and it does chip

Everyone knows an extremely beautiful finish can be achieved with Acrylic, Not everyone knows to acheive this means more than just layin on a heap of coats then giving it a quick buff. With proper preparation and technique an OFF THE GUN Acrylic finish can be applied with the same Gloss as a two-pack finish. To get to that stage requires a phenomenal amount of surface prep and experience as well.

I agree nothing can compare to the soft lustre of a perfect acrylic laquer paint job, they just require a lot of upkeep that only fastidial owners can provide (which makes it perfect for the DIY mini enthusiast) If someone like Inzuma_x is going to pay someone to paint his car a significant amount of money then 2 pack is the only way to go full stop.

His paint will last forever, he wont "need" to wax it every month to keep it nurished and it will look fantastic. Having someone paint your car in Acrylic Lacquer means the finish will be as good as how much they're prepared to put into it. You dont want your painter to be in a bad mood that day!! :P (they are usually sooky pricks at the best of times)
