hi, i just brough a whole load of stuff (including a 1220 in pieces and a 2.9 diff), but theres a 1275 cam in this lot, it looks to have had very very little use, now i dont feel like pulling down my 1275 to find this out, but should the cam have "8M73" stamped (roughly) onto the end of the cam? its on the threaded end(timing chain end) just tring to find out if this is standard, as none of my small bore cams have any marks at all.
if this dosent sound standard ill have it measured.
thanks

I'd say the cam has been reground, that's a popular spot to mark them. Check your local cam grind shops for their grind numbers...
