Hi,
I want to bid on these but will probarbly have to get the calipers reconditioned, not a whiz on cars so I just wanna know are they worth the asking price & are they any good. He says they wont need anymore work but I'm not sure.

you are going to need larger wheels and tyres so that also means an alignment. Your going to split off the ball joints so may be they need replacing as well.

Your up for $$ so I think they are not worth it. Useless for 10" so you go to 12" and then the options open up.

Std mini setup while more does not cost the engineers report
Morris 1100 is old technology and hard to find parts into the future
Camira is a middle ground between the both

personally i dont think if your car is registerd engineering approval does much, there are no yearly checks so when are they going to find out out?? and if a copper pulled u over they look exactly like 8.4's, so i dont think it would be a problem

If you don't engineer your modified brakes and you have an accident, your insurance company will walk away... YOU will be uninsured, and you will be taken to the cleaners.... imagine yourself paying for someone elses car until your 30?
So although you don't see the point, the insurance company does.....
ENGINEER them or face the consequences. :roll:

They are too dear anyway at $390, for not a lot more you can get a rebuildable set of 8.4s which are legal on any Mini.
And new parts for 8.4s (rotors etc) are ridiculously cheap. Welllll, compared to 7.5s anyhow. :wink:

Thanks for the help guys. My car is surrently registered, but I thought you dont need an engineers report because they are mini breaks, I thought you only need it for like Honda breaks on a mini.
So if I wanted a set of rebuilt complete legal breaks where can I get these?

Meeni, i work for queenslands largest insurance company. Believe me, cops, are the least of your problems.
