Post subject: | Larger clutch pedal? |
OK, a strange topic, but bear with me. My GF has a strain injury that affects her left foot (Plantar Fasciitis) and one of the things that really aggravates it is the clutch on her Cooper (R56) which is fairly firm and has a small pedal that puts a lot of painful pressure on her foot. As it is now, she can't drive the car (her dream car!) and is stuck with my automatic VZ wagon and is not loving it. I'm just wondering whether any of the other models - clubman, countryman etc - use a larger clutch pedal that we might be able to swap over. Given how strict ADRs and roadworthys are now I'd be reluctant to try and cut and weld on one from another brand of car, but if there is a bigger one from the Mini range it might be an easy swap. The other option is to sell it and buy a new auto which I'd rather avoid if possible. |

I used to have a JCW R56 they are huge fun, I'd be upset too. Have you thought about those slip on covers, they're temporary so you're not making huge mods (I know people hate them, but it could be a solution) http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/160425892618?nav=SEARCH |

Hadn't really given that style of pedal cover much thought, but given how cheap they are I may just as well grab a set and see if they work. |

You could fit a booster to the clutch same as early mini remote type... many jap 4x4s & trucks have them standard |

I got a set of 'bolt-on' pedal covers from MINImania. They are wider and deeper than the standard units. |
