Hi all, I purchased a 2002 Mini Cooper s and only received 1 key from the car yard, unfortunitly it is not a remote central locking key it is just a normal key and i have to lock unlock using the lock on the drivers side, is this normal or am i missing a remote key? Cheers |

I have recently purchased a 2004 MINI COOPER which only came with the secondary key, I was told by BMW a new remote key would cost $ 560 + up to an hours labour ( $150) to programme, so I decided to buy another secondary key for $ 267 as a spare. No other key shops are able to get make a key with a rolling code( one shop made a key which would open the door but would not start the car. I suppose BMW have got us trapped into buying the keys from them, Tony |

did you buy private? dealer? Have you asked the previous owner / dealer if they have the key, or if it is something they can provide as it was not mentioned up front that it was missing? |

Im going to ask the dealer i purchased the car off tommorow, they advised me that was the only key they had. They had purchased it from interstate, however im not holding my breath with them fixing the problem. |
