Post subject: | Best MINI for daily use |
Hi everyone, Sorry if these questions have been asked before, but ive searched and found nothing. Basically, My girlfriend is looking to sell her getz and get a MINI. She wanted a classic mini but i convinced her to get a MINI so she(me) doesnt have to maintain it as much. Shes got about 25 thousand to spend at a maximum, but would prefer some change. What models should i look for? Ive heard the 5 speed manuals in the early coopers were a bit dodgy. But other than that not too much else goes wrong. Is there anything else to look out for? She wants a manual, and i told her to get an s, for better resale. Have i missed anything? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers, Joe |

I have an R56 (the turbocharged 'S') and the main benefit over the previous model is the fuel consumption - you'll save 2L/100kms over the supercharged engine, mine is currently ~7 and I am a reasonably hard driver. The R56 has a better gearbox apparently as well. I would say keep the Getz and buy a classic Mini - more fun for the weekend. Daniel |
