Driving along.. as I do, Living in a smallish town I know majority of old minis on the road, Many new as well.. Common courtesy to do the mini wave, simple right hand wave while holding the steering wheel.. Like, This is a well known thing, So off I putt in my old beast and mini waves galore... I jump in my new one, which, realistically.. Isn't my baby alright, it's my everyday car, preservation for the REAL beast, Now.. I drive along and other new mini drivers seem absolutely oblivious to the mini wave, rude.. don't wave back. My little heart sinks so practice your waves! Hahahaha.

I have also done the mini wave to MINI owners and usually get no response. Maybe it is because a stack of MINI owners dont care about the mini's history or character... they think it is just another beema

I'm assuming so but... Perhaps they don't deserve them then! Yes they're beemas but... not they're not, they're still minis.. And they wouldn't be around if it weren't for the classics. They need a good whack in the face via a zeemax body kit.

Mini drivers and MINI drivers don't wave to me so you can all get stuffed.

I get more waves from Morris Minors and MGBs than from anyone else. :D

Can't argue with that DOZ.

Uneeeq - get used to it mate - I drive both too, and it's pretty clear that many, if not most, MINI drivers are in one cos it's trendy and well, er cool (refer DOZ  ), and have no understanding or care for minis, or the "brotherhood". Waves from them are rare no matter which car I'm driving, but appreciated.
Sure there are those like you, me (and coolman DOZ) and others that have (or had) both and are, I guess, enthusiasts, so we'll wave at anything that even looks like a mini or were made in the Morris factories (ref Morris 1100), but sadly we are rare. Crikey I was even waving at minis and MINIS when my work car was a dunnydore, so I'm doing my bit to spread the love.
I don't think I've ever had a wave knocked back from another mini driver though when in the mini - feel the love.......
Peter (not as cool as DOZ)..

Hahahaha. I'd say I'm enthusiastic about them yeah.. But I'm pretty sure the word I'm thinking that suits me is more... Obsessed. Have been since I was 3, thought at 12 that they'd be all gone by the time I was 18...!! All good though, PHEW!... 20 now and onto my 3rd Mini.

I can work with 'enthusiast' though.. sounds more sane.

I try to wave at other bini drivers and i would say that only 50% of them wave back

but when i am burning around the street in my moke every tom, dick and harry is waving at me I think the older cars dont blend in as much so more poeple notice u drive past plus the older cars normally have the louder exhaust note

I've tried waving to classic mini drivers and MINI drivers...but don't get a response from either...not even a high beam :(

HOWEVER

When I first got my mini (before getting my license and all that jazz), Dad and I were driving home from the smash repairs in my mini and passed another mini...he was literally hanging out the window screaming hello and waving like crazy. He was very lucky he didn't swerve and crash lol.

But I was impressed by his enthusiasm!!!!
