Just read that the 1 millionth MINI has rolled off the production line in Oxford:

a quick google search reveals that they are just about keeping pace with the original...the original made it in just over 5.5 years in Feb 1965 (from Aug 1959 for first sales) and the MINI had made it in exactly 6 years (Apr 2001-April 2007)
Also found this interesting article which tells the story of how the 1 millionth mini has ended up in the VW museum in Wolfsburg of all places...
