Just been discovered in the US in the last couple of weeks, but there is a
design / manufacture fault (not determined which yet!) with the new Minis which
is causing rust.

The door seal (both driver and passenger sides) is either rubbing through the
paint or flaking the paint under the seal when the doors are opened or closed,
and in some cases (mostly late '02 builds) the seals are also trapping water
after cleaning.

The problem is worst along the bottom edge along the door sill. Lift the rubber
seal there and most new Minis will have bare metal and light rust.
