Regretfully we only got ASC, which is still good. But a MINI with DSC had the Eastern Creek driver trainers very impressed that such a good package was available on this bugdet car.

In "General Lee" terms Bob, DSC will let you go much harder in the wet, and not fall off the road.

Just a thought, don't suppose you can talk leanne into "burnt orange" and a few decals= General Lee Mk2 maybe??

There certainly is a big difference between the Cooper and the S. I own an S and drove my mates Cooper, everything is different, clutch is light as, not much power, steering seems different. And in 5th gear there isn't much power when you give it a bit, in the S it takes off.

I like the Cooper S. Glad we paid the extra.

Taking it to get serviced this Monday down at Peck and Stokes in Geelong, getting a Cabrio for the day, they think we'll be upgrading, we just want a joy ride. Hope the weather's OK.

Leigh

I'd hardly call a $40K+ car "budget" ...unless of course you compare it to a Ferrari

Obviously $40K does not refer to a cheap car. But those Driver trainers were well aquainted with more expensive cars (like Ferraris etc) that have the state-of-the-art systems fitted. I am believing that they were well travelled, but their positive comments were interesting. One of them explained that all manufacters approach someone like Bosch to supply a safety system to the car maker. The car maker can then select from a range of inferior or superior systems (say ABS) depending on budget.

the best thing about the S is that lovely little vwoooming noise that the super charger makes. You never get sick of it.

go on extend yourself, Bob. Just back trade some of your laundry appliances.

Matt.

P.s. alas, the supercharger is soon to go the way of all things and be replaced by a loveless turbo. Its like an agatha christie movie with a deisel electric intercity express.

Budget just means a price you are willing to pay for something. Everything is relative.

Hey Chop, Ann is not a member on this forum yet. She seems to have a love of chrome (and old Minis too) . But will pass on your message when I see her.

And it was I that was chatting to you before rudely running away without even introducing myself properly. Sorry 'bout that, but the MINI juganaut was departing. Hopefully we'll see you up there again some time.
