Try covering the spare holes for the different motor positions.

I've never had an issue. Interesting. I've always used silicon spray in the gearbox. Are you using a lube of any sort?

yes, I've lubed the gearbox, but again, not the issue

stealing someone else's photos, here's the offending bit and where you're meant to grease it

the motor mount plate has an extra hole on it (1 o'clock on the top pic) that isn't used, and I think they've cut the edge of the right-hand side of the chassis to fit around it, but it's opened up a massive hole for stuff to fall down (1 o'clock on bottom pic) . Basically it comes in through that gap, sits on top of the curved bit where the motor mount lines up and then falls in.... I've filled mine up with silicone on both halves, it still comes apart, but it seals when I put it together

Maybe it's a V2 issue. There are a couple small little things that seem like it was rushed a little...

Having said that, I'm never off the racing line. The racing line is always clean.

Which is all lies, well the first part anyway.

pfft, I even had bits of grass in my gearbox...

my car does a funny thing, one of the experienced guys noticed it too - the car runs straight when cruising but jumps to the left on sudden acceleration. Any idea what might make it do that?

I doubt your diff is too tight. Try a tad more tow out at the front.

gotcha... something like 1/2 a turn on one of the tie rod ends?

I don't like how much slop there is in the front (and rear) uprights, the outer CV moves in and out about 1mm - do we ever put little shims behind the hex flange pin or the CV?

Yes, I shim the movement out. If you buy the assembly uni joints they will come with the shims.

With an M05, I put spacers in the steering arms. Probably only needs .5mm taken out.

Yeah I shim mine too.

More for my own pleasure than because of the performance improvement!

I think it's the placebo effect! :)

can I see a spacer in the steering arm there?

just a little ring and you screw the rod ends up tight on it, yeah?

am I allowed to ask what size spacers??

Yep, they are silver in that photo. I have a tiny spacer in there at the moment. Probably .5mm. It's as much tow out as I've ever ran, but the diff is pretty tight, probably too tight. I use the Tamiya aluminium spacer kits, but you'll find you have some random spacers attached to a plastic parts frame.
