Ball diff? Then buy the TA03 one and build it exactly as per the instructions. Only difference? Use anti-wear grease instead of the standard diff lube supplied. Don't take out bits or anything, just build it. The only other thing we're going to change here is when you tighten it. Just...umm..tighten the crap out of it, and leave it.

Hahaha - that doesn't make me feel like I'm being stalked at all! In 2009 I was either in Darwin or overseas! So no idea why I was on rctech! HA!

I did say above build it as per instructions though! So at least my story hasn't changed in the last 5 years or more! Do you believe me yet? :D

The BMW (long wheelbase) is a more stable car, but in terms of diff and set up, there isn't a great deal of difference between the two

...then I stripped the thread.

Then I ran a kit diff double shimmed with AW grease.

Then I bought M05.

You'll get a little tub of AW grease with 53597 uni's. I don't use AW grease in my uni's, since I ran out once and started using moly grease (because I had some).

Don't worry at this stage. Call the uni's an item that you can add in when you wear out the standard wheel cups (or whatever they're called).

it's all built and in the car, if I leave work early I'll take it to the track and have a play...

I built it with the kit diff (very notchy, I guess it'll come loose), and I figured when I get a ball diff I'll take it apart again - with the m01 it's about 6 screws and 5 minutes to get the diff out, this one is absolutely buried right in the guts of it - EVERYTHING would need to come apart to get the diff out

the kit came with a tub of anti wear grease for the diff & driveshafts too

also, whats the best way to get another set of body posts? I'm using the HPI mini shell which sits about 1/2" lower on the posts than the tamiya shell. I'd like to trim some posts to match that shell, but keep the long posts for when I put the tamiya shell on (or get a new one)

You need to buy a replace set of 'C' parts.

I like tqracing, but you could also try banzai hobby and rcmart.

I did take it to the track today, and like Nathan said it would, one of the kit shockers broke - very brittle clear plastic. I gave the wall a little tap and then it started handling funny - the right rear had broken it's top off

thanks Ryan, I thought that might have been the case. I like rcmart and banzai - Banzai are really cheap and ridiculously fast, but only stock tamiya branded upgrade bits.

this: http://www.hpiracing.com/en/part/7206

The body sits lower due to much bigger wheel arches. Would be good for a long travel rally car too. It actually fits over the chassis better than the stock m01 tamiya shell which crushes on the rear of the chassis

apparently BMW haven't renewed their license so no more are being made... (typical  )
