The article says 380Nm. Very respectable. |

I like how it has no 'head' the split line is at the bottom of the cylinders. Needs funky machining to get combustion chambers, valve seats and bores done but they never have to worry about the head gasket under huge boost. Nice! |

Wasn't that the way old F1 engines were made, too? Not all of them, obviously (I remember reading that early BMW F1 turbo engines were very well used road blocks - happy to be corrected), but I remember seeing - on here, of all places - a Judd F1 engine that was done that way. Great stuff from Nissan. Great to see them continuing with oddball experiments after last year's similar entry. Now imagine that scaled down even further, turned into a 660cc triple with 150+bhp, and used as a range extender. That's the way to build an electric car... |

They have always been innovative Nissan, The VQ30DE V6 engine holds the record in the 'Wards 10 Best Engines' list for being in the top 10 for the most number of consecutive years (7 years). When Nissan enlarged it to be the VQ35DE it was still in the list for the next 6 years. They then enlarged it again to become the VQ37VHR and it was included again!! Nissan never fails to astound me with their innovation and engine performances - that s why I like them so much!! Cheers, Tricky |

Awesome engine they have there. Now if they could just make a timing chain properly.... ![]() |
