Ah yes, saw this in the magazine.
Beautiful work, just a little too much composite for my liking.

I have 13x7 Revolutions & the same tyre, and they are a bit stretched even on them (Yokohama's recommended max. fitment is 6.5"). On the 13x8 rims they look even better.

We have got those tyres on our 13x8 revolutions, but we got a wider width. they fit fine

Even the 205/60 R13 is 5.5 to 7.5 recommended rim width, but I'm sure they fit & look great too.

I would have loved 205 tread width, but needed to stick to the 505mm rolling diameter.

I was thinking about starting to make some carbon fibre parts for my mini. That roof has inspired me... mmmm.

What would be the legalities of a carbon roof here. Assuming you cut the old one out?

No go, unless you can find an engineer who will put his "manhood" on the line to sign off on the mods permit.

iirc when replacing body panels they are pretty strict on the replacement panels meeting the same strength/properties or similar? shame..

Didn't someone on here do the vinyl fake-carbon treatment? You can get some good 3M stuff that actually looks like carbon now which would look OK. I know it's not real, but on a road car, really, the only gain real carbon is giving you is in the looks department.

I have wondered about doing my roof with it, but not looked into cost. I know it would be totally out of place on my Morris 1100, but I like the look of the 1300GT (which has a factory black vinyl roof) and I have some carbon mirror shells I made years ago that I want to use, so thought they could match. Hmm...
