So just brainstorming in my own head here....

Honda Goldwing has reverse gear...

i'm assuming a Goldwing is a pretty low powered but largeish capacity engine...

would there be any chance a goldwing gearbox would bolt onto a CBR fireblade motor?

comments and suggestions folks?

Very unlikely.
Motorbikes have a gearbox similar to a mini. In the sump.
But ive only had experience with 600cc bike engines and a few dirtbikes.

How much power do they have :?: If it's more than 50 at the wheels and the engine weighs less than 150kg then it's worth it.....in theory, cost of the conversion may make it seem uneconomical but if you want something different and an improvment on the current power to weight ratio then it is worth doing.

The reverse on some of the goldwings (maybe all of them?) is electric, like the starter motor system they use in the UK. Some of them have electric training wheels that lower themselves at low speeds too!

And a totally different gearbox and engine layout to most motorcycles.
