For the install of a 20v 2litre VTEC is it necessary to extent the front by 4 inches in a round nose? all the pre manufactured sub frames state that it is a necessity? Who knows more ?

Just have 4 exhausts straight out the front grill, and put a really short intake on it.

i thought the k20a motor could only be fitted to the LHD mini due the steering rack gets in the way of the diff housing MORE than the b16/18 motors

check this link out…
http://superfastminis.com/MT-BKIT.htm

it states here that,
"The MTB Series Subframe is compatible with all Classic Minis."
& that,
"The MTB Kit will work for Left Hand Drive Minis as well as Right Hand Drive Minis."

The link Bill.B posted is for the B series kit. The K series kit doesnt mention LHD or RHD suitability at all.

A 2.4l K Series would be sweet if we could get one registered over here....

I'm quite sure you are going to have to lengthen the front for the K20. It's hard enough fitting a B-series in a left hand drive standard length Mini. You might as well just fit one midship and go RWD, it would probably be less work.
