Hey, I have an 88 mini and looking at doing a Vtec engine conversion, I don't want to lengthen the front end of the car nor do I want to install a flip front, any Gurus on here point me in the right direction? I have had a look on the Superfast minis website but it's a bit hard for me to work out what kit doesn't require a lengthened or flip front.
Is there any subframes available here in Australia???

Are there any bike motor kits available here in Australia?

What other subframe kits are available here local in Australia?

Thanks, Alex.

Allspeed engineering in the uk do a vtec frame for a roundnose. It needs modified extractors though. Which are quite expensive to buy from them.

As for what else fits in roundys, the 8v vauxhall engine should fit, but not sure how'd you go with sourcing an engine.

Alex, you don't list your location which makes things a bit difficult. There are a few members on here that manufacture frames.

Suzuki Swift GTi's seem to fit Roundies quite well as do Diahatsu CB70 3cyl. Example of a CB70 http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=733067#733067

The most popular for a Clubman is a 4EFTE from a Starlet Turbo.

I had an interesting thought yesterday as my Son just bought a Honda City (new one not the old fugly things) which has an L15 i-VTEC engine in it. It is a very neat little package. He'll be here later today so I'm going to take photo's and get the Tape Measure out. It's no Fire Breather 88kw at 6600rpm and torque is 145Nm at 4800rpm but would make a nice smooth motor.

I'm in Adelaide, want to either do some kind of late model vtec motor or bike motor in the front.
