i know that bike engined cars seem to be hard to get engineered over here, but there is a kit in the uk now that is a front wheel drive, front mounted bike engine on a cut down (and obviously strengthened) mini subframe, it uses mini drive shafts, mini everything.. the only thing that isnt mini is the engine.. which im assuming is where the problem will be.. will a motorcycle engine pass in a road going car, they do produce lower emissions then the a-series does. and provided its adequately built, would a subframe purchased from the uk in a kit be passed by an engineer over here. i know people ask these questions frequently, but this kit looks very good, and will fit into the mini engine bay without any (i think) cutting required! have a look http://www.pro-motive.co.uk/R1KitInfo.html im very very keen cheers sean |

Theres been quite a long thread recently on this topic. Do you know if that kit does reverse? Thats the main stumbling block in bike conversions. Talk to an engineer about it. See if he will let you do it. |

reverse is easy, but its not in the gearbox... does that matter? il contact and engineer soon |

Have a read through the other thread, if your engineer is happy with a starter motor to reverse it your sorted. |

read through that post, got one useful thing out of it and that was an engineers email address.. the rest was just people arguing about whos idea is better.. |

my idea is magnificent but this isnt it.. this would be for meeni.. but for my spaceframe im going to build.. well.. thats another story.. i just think its good that there are so many options for the same motor!

Its not spectacular unless its 2 hayabusas in v8. A v8 that revs to over 13 thousand rpm. |
