I think it may be true, a while back they were collecting them to make prosthetic human body parts...

Yup - has been denied many many times by various Rotary clubs. The ring pulls have never been used to make artificial limbs. Even thought they don't contain significant titanium, they can be used to make a small joint between the stump cover and the leg shaft.

None of the commercial aluminium alloys contain any significant quantities of titanium i.e. above 0.35% Ti, which includes the alloy used ring pulls. Titanium in both the ring pull and the can exists only as an impurity and is too minute to be extracted.
